How to Book
We cover Fate from our shop in Wylie, about 10 miles out, so a roller job here gets scheduled rather than dropped in between closer calls. When you call, tell us the door's rough age and whether it's grinding, popping, or just loud on the way up - that tells us whether we're bringing a bag of nylon rollers or doing a full track-and-roller job. Because Fate sits far enough from Wylie that we're not driving past twice a day, we batch these jobs with other work in the area when we can, which keeps the trip efficient for both of us. If your opener is already struggling to pull a door with bad rollers, say so when you call - that's a different kind of visit than a quiet roller swap, and we want the right parts on the truck before we leave Wylie. We don't keep a branch or inventory in Fate itself; everything comes out with the tech.
What You Pay
We're not going to print a number here that doesn't match what actually happens on your door, so we'll tell you what drives the cost instead. The two big variables are how many rollers need replacing - often it's all ten on a standard door once one has failed, since they wear at close to the same rate - and whether you upgrade to sealed ball-bearing rollers or go back to standard nylon. A straight roller swap on a door that's otherwise sound is a different job than one where the track is grooved or bent from years of a bad roller riding sideways in it. Given Fate's household income running a bit above the wider service area, we do see more owners choose the sealed ball-bearing upgrade up front rather than replace twice. We'll give you the actual number for your door and your rollers before any work starts - not a guess based on a different house.
Stocked Parts
We carry both plastic and nylon rollers on the truck, plus sealed ball-bearing rollers for owners who want the quieter upgrade, and we keep stems in the common lengths so we're not improvising a fix on the spot. Steel rollers aren't something we push - they're loud and they chew tracks faster than nylon, and we won't put them on a door just because they're cheaper. For a 2013-era door in Fate, the original hardware is almost always a standard bracket size, so parts fit without a special order; we don't run into oddball spacing until a door's been modified or it's much older stock. One honest limit: if your track is bent badly enough to need replacing rather than just cleaned up, that's not always a same-trip part - we may need to come back once we've confirmed the size, since we don't carry every track length for every door on the truck.
